A Saudi prince died after consuming a combination of alcohol, illegal drugs and prescription medication while staying at a luxury hotel in London, a UK coroner has ruled.
An inquest heard that Prince Abdullah bin Fahad bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Jalawi Al Saud, 29, was found unresponsive on the bathroom floor of his room at the London Marriott Hotel Kensington on 25 November 2025.
The coroner concluded that he died from cardiac arrest after taking a combination of alcohol, GHB, cannabis, Xanax and other anti-anxiety medication.
The inquest recorded a verdict of misadventure – the legal term used in England and Wales for an accidental death resulting from a voluntary act carrying an obvious risk.
The hearing found no evidence that the prince intended to end his life or that anyone else was involved in his death.
Evidence presented during the proceedings indicated that Prince Abdullah had previously struggled with substance misuse and had sought treatment before his death.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances, and the official investigation has now been concluded.
British media reported that the prince had been staying at the London Marriott Hotel Kensington, where room rates can reach about £600 a night, depending on availability.
The inquest’s findings provide the first official account of the circumstances surrounding his death, confirming that it was accidental rather than the result of criminal activity.
