Radio Mercury 92.1FM has announced plans to temporarily suspend broadcasting from 1 November 2026 to undertake a major overhaul of its operations.
The station said the suspension would remain in place until further notice.
In a statement issued on the 30 September, 2026, Radio Mercury said the move would allow it to carry out a comprehensive programme of restructuring, rehabilitation, relocation and upgrades to its facilities.
The changes are intended to strengthen the station and prepare it for the next phase of its operations, it added.
The station apologised to listeners and customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure.
It said it hoped to return with improved facilities and a more modern broadcasting operation.
Radio Mercury did not say how long the suspension would last or give a date for the resumption of broadcasting.
The announcement also leaves questions over the future of Lotto draws broadcast by the station.
It said further details would be provided on arrangements for the draws during the suspension.
Radio Mercury thanked its listeners, partners and other stakeholders for their continued support, saying it looked forward to welcoming them back when broadcasting resumes.
