The All People’s Congress (APC) has announced that rerun ward elections will be conducted nationwide on Saturday, April 4, 2026, as part of efforts to resolve outstanding internal electoral disputes within the party.

In a public notice issued by the party’s National Secretariat under the authority of National Secretary General Lansana Qumbuya, the APC informed members and the general public that the specific wards and polling centres designated for the rerun exercise will be republished on Thursday, April 2.

The party called on all stakeholders—including aspirants, officials, and grassroots members—to adhere strictly to the APC Constitution (2022), as well as established electoral guidelines and internal regulations governing party elections.

The rerun exercise follows earlier ward-level electoral processes that were marred by disputes and irregularities, prompting calls for fresh polls in affected areas to restore confidence and legitimacy within party structures ahead of future national political engagements.

The APC leadership emphasized its commitment to ensuring that the rerun elections are conducted in a free, fair, transparent, and credible manner, under the supervision of relevant party organs.

The notice also formally informed the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) and the Sierra Leone Police, led by the Inspector General of Police, requesting their support to guarantee a peaceful and orderly process.

The APC urged full cooperation from its membership, stressing that the success of the rerun elections will be critical to maintaining internal cohesion and strengthening democratic practices within the party.
