The Sierra Leone Football Association( SLFA) has in a press release put out today, Wednesday, 27th December, 2023, condemned the action of one its star players, Mohamed Buya Turay, for involving what it refers to as “vulgar act on social media.”
“The attention of the Sierra Leone Football Association has been drawn to a couple of videos making rounds on the internet showing Leone Stars striker Mohamed Buya Turay apparently using vulgar words against his wife,” the release has stated.
Buya appears lately to have been largely involved in a controversy with his wife, Suad Buya Turay. The couple who were married in October 2022 seems to be losing it.
Their marriage is now on life support.
The reasons are not too clear to the media, but the country’s football federation “discerns Buya’s actions portrayed in the videos as utter disrespect to not only his wife but to womanhood in general and therefore unequivocally condemns his actions, which fall completely out of line with the morals of global football.”
“However, the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Thomas Daddy Brima, has taken a step further in reaching out to Turay in an effort to bring the seeming impasse to a calm.”
Buya himself has in some of his recent videos released on social media claimed to be the victim of bully. But Suad has a different story.
She has put out a video in which she claimed she was mercilessly manhandled by Buya.
First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Her Excellency Fatima Jabbie Bio has on her official Facebook page condemned Buya for a video on social media in which he had openly used motherly invectives against his wife.
