Sierra Leone: NaCSA bags 17.5 million Euro Project

The National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 being granted an additional seventeen million five hundred thousand Euro fund to implement the Pro Poor-Growth for Peace Consolidation and Youth Employment (GPCYE) Project.

This is coming as a result of a Financial Cooperation Agreement between the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL) and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany represented by the German Development Bank (KfW) and NaCSA is the Program Executing Agency (PEA) in Sierra Leone. At the signing, NaCSA was highly commended for successful implementing the predecessor projects.

According to the report, “…NaCSA has proven to be a good and reliable partner throughout the implementation and planning process and the German government is looking forward to continue the good and trustworthy cooperation with NaCSA as the Project Executing Agency.”

The recognition came up during the negotiation and subsequent signing of the Development Cooperation between the Government of Sierra Leone, being represented by the Hon. Minister of Planning and Development, Md. Kenyeh Barlay and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, being represented by the Head of the German Delegation, Kraus-Masse Christoph Rauh. The event took place at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Planning and Development, State Avenue, Freetown.

The New Pro Poor-Growth for Peace Consolidation and Youth Employment (GPCYE) Project is expected to commence in 2024 and it will continue till 2027. It could be noted that the GPCYE program is succeeding GPC III. It is expected to build on successes of previous programs.
