Leading the effort with conviction, Prof. Foday Sahr, the Executive Director of the National Public Health Agency (NPHA), set an inspiring example by becoming one of the first individuals in the country to receive the vaccine.
The country has secured a total of 61,300 doses of the Mpox vaccine, which will be administered strategically to frontline health workers and high-risk communities. This rollout prioritizes individuals aged 12 and above, targeting groups most vulnerable to the outbreak.
This milestone marks a significant step forward in Sierra Leone’s dedication to epidemic preparedness and public health resilience, ensuring protection against the spread of Mpox.
