Let me put this plainly: the rumours are false.
Some of you may have come across sensational headlines claiming that Sierra Leonean footballer Musa Tombo has prematurely TERMINATED HIS CONTRACT with newly signed Tunisian side Club Sportif Sfaxien (commonly known as CSS). That is untrue.
Indeed, Musa Tombo WAS officially signed by CS Sfaxien on a three-year contract. The confusion seems to stem from unrelated administrative complications within the club itself.–
Reports indicate that CS Sfaxien is currently under a FIFA-imposed restriction on registering new players, —stemming from prior disputes, including an issue involving Guinean club FC Horoya and a separate matter concerning unpaid wages to a former player.
As a result, FIFA has placed a temporary freeze on player registrations at CS Sfaxien.

Crucially, this has absolutely nothing to do with Musa Tombo himself. So, let’s just say it is an unfortunate case of bad timing rather than any action or failing on the player’s part.
In fact, Musa’s transfer from Sierra Leone’s Bo Rangers FC was finalised and made official on 23rd July 2025, on a free transfer.
His name already appears in nearly all club communications and publications from CS Sfaxien. He remains contracted, committed, and, most importantly—NOT RELEASED.
There is no indication that the player intends to terminate his contract or return home to Sierra Leone. All signs suggest that the situation will be resolved in the coming weeks, once the registration embargo is lifted.

In the meantime, the club CS Sfaxien retains FULL RESPONSIBILTY for Musa Tombo’s welfare while he remains in Tunisia under their banner. As such, CS Sfaxien is expected to ensure all his needs are met during this period —both professionally and personally.
So, fingers-crossed, and allow the process to run its course.
Musa Tombo remains very much a CS Sfaxien player—for now, and for the foreseeable future.
