More articles

In line with our continued efforts to address human
mobility in the context of climate change and
environmental degradation, IOM and the
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) held a 6
Days Consultative Meeting with key stakeholders in
Plantain Island and Moyamba District Yealibuya in
Kambia District respectively.
These sessions focused on enhancing
knowledge on the effects of climate change
on the communities and their livelihoods and
facilitating dialogues on possible solutions to
address coastal vulnerabilities and mitigation
strategies at local, district and national levels.
In another development, IOM conducted a
Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD)
assessment for the #GOLA-REAP project,
consulting national human rights actors, civil
society, and activists in Sierra Leone and
Liberia.
The HRDD identifies risks, aligns activities
with global human rights standards, and
ensures a rights-based peacebuilding
approach. IOM and partners are enhancing
safeguards to support community resilience
in the Gola Forest Landscape.
