Prominent businessman and philanthropist Mohamed Gento Kamara has strongly denied allegations linking him to convicted Dutch drug trafficker Jos Leijdekkers, also known as ‘Bolle Jos.’ Gento dismissed the claims as baseless, warning that those responsible for spreading such falsehoods will face legal consequences.
The controversy erupted following a misleading social media post by KOMON-TOK NEWS, which circulated an image insinuating that the Dutch drug baron had financed Gentoโs seaport project. The post, which featured a collage of port images and unrelated figures, was further amplified during a live discussion on the KOMON-TOK NEWS Facebook page.
In a swift response, Gento Kamara refuted the claims, condemning the social media hoax as a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation. โThese allegations are completely false and malicious. I have never met or had any dealings with Jos Leijdekkers,โ he stated. โKOMON-TOKโs attempt to link me to such baseless accusations is not only misleading but also defamatory. I will take legal action against those responsible.โ
Gento further expressed concern over the increasing trend of targeted character assassinations against innocent Sierra Leoneans, particularly those striving to make a positive impact in society. He urged an end to such defamatory tactics, emphasizing the importance of truth and integrity.
A well-respected entrepreneur, Gento is the founder and owner of the Gento Group of Companies, a leading road construction firm with multi-million-dollar assets. He has built his reputation through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to community development. Over the years, he has empowered more than 3,000 young people and women through various entrepreneurial initiatives and has contributed significantly to charitable causes across Sierra Leone.
Born and raised in Freetown, Kamara has always remained devoted to his homeland. Following an appeal from former President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah, he returned to Sierra Leone to contribute to national development, particularly in infrastructure and youth mentorship. His philanthropic efforts have been widely recognized, making him a respected figure both in business and society.
Despite the false allegations, Gento remains steadfast in his mission to drive positive change. โThe price of success is hard work, dedication, and determination,โ he said. โRegardless of the challenges, I will continue to uphold my integrity and serve my country with honesty and commitment.โ
With legal action on the horizon, KOMON-TOK may soon face the consequences of its reckless misinformation campaign. Meanwhile, Gento remains undeterred, focusing on his business, philanthropy, and commitment to positive change in Sierra Leone.
