Freetown, Sierra Leone – Momentum is growing within the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and across the nation as supporters urge His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio to appoint Abdul Sigismond Sesay Esq. as the next Minister of Youth Affairs.
Party loyalists, youth leaders, and community voices are uniting behind Mr. Sesay, praising his steadfast loyalty to the SLPP and his deep-rooted commitment to youth empowerment.
A respected legal advocate and entrepreneur, Sesay is widely known for his leadership, innovation, and service to the nation—qualities many believe are urgently needed at the ministry.
“Abdul has proven time and again that he is not only loyal to the SLPP, but also passionate about transforming the lives of young people,” said Mariama Koroma, an SLPP youth activist. “He doesn’t just talk—he acts. We need that kind of energy in government.”
Mr. Sesay played a key role during the 2023 elections, particularly in Kambia District, where his leadership and community mobilization significantly boosted grassroots support for the party.
“Without a doubt, his efforts in Kambia turned the tide in favor of the SLPP,” noted Mohamed Kallon, a regional party organizer.
“He is one of the unsung heroes of our recent electoral success.”
As the founder of the Jusas Group of Companies, Abdul has created over one hundred jobs for young Sierra Leoneans in logistics and service sectors, a track record that sets him apart from many.
“Abdul is a doer,” said Fatmata Jalloh, a beneficiary of the Jusas Group’s employment program.
“He gave me my first job when I had no hope. Imagine what he could do for youth on a national scale.”
Hailing from Mayefeh in Kambia District, Mr. Sesay is both locally grounded and nationally respected. Supporters also point to his family legacy within the SLPP—his mother served as Constituency Chairlady for Constituency 99 in the APC-dominated Portee area during challenging opposition years.
“My mother was a dedicated SLPP executive during the opposition days, and I have carried that torch forward with pride,” Abdul Sesay has said in public forums.
As pressure builds, calls are also reaching the office of the First Lady. “We respectfully appeal to Her Excellency Fatima Maada Bio to take a close look at what Abdul represents,” urged SLPP youth leader Ibrahim Conteh. “He’s a unifier, a problem solver, and a leader the youth trust.”
With public support swelling, all eyes now turn to State House. Will President Bio heed the call and appoint Abdul Sigismond Sesay to lead the Ministry of Youth Affairs?
“This is not just about politics,” said community leader Haja Aminata Bangura. “It’s about empowering a generation. And Abdul is the right man for the job.”
