Mercury International Chief Finance Officer (CFO),ย Ekundayoย E. Rowe, on Saturday 8th February, 2025, presented the championship title to the first-ever Sierra Leone Billiards and Snookers Association champion at the Kabana Club, Lumley Beach, Freetown.
The Mercury CFO who represented the MD, while presenting the trophy to the inaugural winner, Eid Ahmed, said, as a company they are proud to sponsor the tournament and see Sierra Leoneans explore their sporting talentsย in other sporting disciplines.ย

Ekundayo Rowe further stated that they were pleased to see the massive turnout of people embracing a new sport, and the performance of the competitors proved it was not an easy tournament but a competitive one.
The prestigious Billiards and Snooker tournament showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship and culminated in a thrilling final match that kept spectators including the Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James Teima, ManagingDirector of Rokel Bank, Dr Walton Ekundayo Gilpin and others on the edge. A captivating display of precision and strategy, the winner claimed the title amidst cheers and applause, marking a significant achievement in the competitive world of cue sports.
