Africell Sierra Leone held its 2026 Management Strategic Retreat at Tokeh Resort, bringing together senior leadership to review the company’s 2025 performance and set priorities for the year ahead. The retreat provided a platform for strategic planning, operational alignment, and reflection on customer engagement and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Opening the retreat, Africell Chief Executive Officer Shadi Gerjawi described 2025 as a landmark year, marking 25 years of Africell operations in Africa. He thanked customers, partners, and staff for their contributions to the company’s growth and resilience, noting that the anniversary was celebrated across all Africell markets.
Gerjawi highlighted 2025 as Africell’s “year of community service,” culminating in the presentation of a newly built house to a subscriber from Kabala. He described the handover to the winner, Amit, as an emotional and meaningful conclusion to the company’s community engagement efforts, underscoring Africell’s commitment to making tangible impacts in the lives of its subscribers.
Looking ahead, Gerjawi emphasized that customer-centric decision-making remains Africell’s top priority for 2026. He explained that all management actions and strategic choices will be evaluated based on their short- and long-term benefits to customers. The company aims to balance service quality, value, and pricing while sustaining competitiveness in Sierra Leone’s telecommunications sector.
On corporate social responsibility, the CEO stressed Africell’s continued focus on community development through the Africell Impact Foundation, highlighting the Africell Learning Center as a core pillar of educational support. He announced ambitious nationwide training programs for 2026, noting ongoing discussions with the Institute of Public Administration and Management and Njala University to provide free training opportunities for Sierra Leoneans.
Gerjawi also reaffirmed Africell’s investment in entertainment, youth engagement, and sports, citing partnerships with local artists, media platforms, and the production of Housemates Season 4 in collaboration with AYV, with a fifth season already in demand. He highlighted Africell’s sponsorship of East End Lions Football Club and ongoing collaboration with the Sierra Leone Football Association to expand sports initiatives.
The CEO emphasized structured and consistent engagement with communities and the media, noting that regular outreach ensures that customer feedback informs service delivery and innovation.
Concluding his address, Gerjawi encouraged Sierra Leoneans to continue choosing Africell, reaffirming the company’s commitment to clear voice services, fast and reliable data, and community support as it enters a new phase of growth in the country.
