“Waterloo sef wan Waka Fine”

“Waterloo sef wan Waka Fyn,” women’s advocate and civil society activist in Waterloo, Doris Fatima Webber, has stated lately on his Facebook page.

This is after the government of President Julius Maada Bio appears to have given an oversight to the transportation struggle of the people of Waterloo and provided with the capital- Freetown 47 brand new high quality buses to convey commuters to and from the corridors of the East and West ends of the country’s capital.

Webber stated that “for the Western Area to have forty seven buses and Waterloo be excluded, is very unfair.”

She disclosed that “Waterloo is the District Head Quarter of the Western Area Rural District, and also serves as the gateway to Freetown.”

“Transportation has been a challenge for the people of Waterloo and its environs, taking into consideration the insufficient commercial vehicles plying Waterloo -Bombay,” she added, noting that “there is a huge demand for transportation between Calaba Town and Waterloo as there are workers, business people and school going children to and from their daily activities on a daily basis. Most importantly this is impacting negatively on the girl child.”

“We look forward to having our own quota so we can all.”
