In what is seen as insubordination to the police and the laws of the country, the Sierra Leone Police have declared one Issa Kallon, who’s alleged to have openly involved in homosexuality in Bo District, wanted.
According to the police, Issa was given a police invitation for the 9 June 2022, to investigate a matter relating buggery.
The buggery incident is said to have been uncovered and alarmed by one Osman Bangura who had informed their community at Nagohun, back of the Bo Mini Stadium to report it to the police in Bo.
Issa Kallon and his friend (deceased) were caught in the act in a room in the aforementioned community, and consequently his friend was mobbed to death by members of Nagohun community.
Police source disclosed that on Monday, 8 June, 2022, one of the partners of Issa Kallon, was found dead at the Nagohun community. There are no clear causes of his death yet, but information holds it that he was lynched to death by members of the community.
He is alleged to have been attacked and killed during a private time with Issa Kallon.
Issa Kallon himself had narrowly escaped death from his uncle who injured his face.
He is now believed to have fled to an unknown destination out of Sierra Leone after it came clear to him that there was a police invitation for him.
Family sources stated that Kallon’s departure had been induced by the police invitation.
Family sources also noted that religious and secret society leaders even visited Issa Kallon’s house with a motive to deal with him for what they perceived as a detestable act that’s totally against their culture and faith.
Reports furthered that Issa Kallon’s uncle also joined in victimizing and threatening to kill him for what he described as a disgrace to their family.
Kallon’s invitation issued by the police was largely circulated in the community. And they police have seriously and secretly and raided his house to arrest him.

Unconfirmed reports stated that Issa Kallon eventually found his way to Pamlap in neighboring Guinea, and has not been seen or heard from since.
Buggery is legally and cultural damned in Sierra Leone.
Same-sex sexual activity is prohibited in Sierra Leone under the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, which criminalizes acts of ‘buggery’. This provision carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment. Only men are criminalized under this law.
