The much-anticipated 2025/2026 Sierra Leone Premier League season officially begins today, Saturday, November 8, 2025, with four matches taking place across Freetown, Bo, and Port Loko.

This season marks the first under the new Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) administration, led by Babadi Kamara, and the new Premier League Board, chaired by former Leone Stars goalkeeper Osman Tommy. The fresh leadership has promised greater transparency, improved organization, and stronger competition in the country’s top-tier football league.

In Freetown, Ports Authority FC will open their campaign against Luawa FC at the Approved School Field, while Bhantal FC faces Bullom Stars FC at the SLFA Academy in Kingtom.

In the southern region, defending champions Bo Rangers FC will look to make a strong start as they host Kamboi Eagles FC at the Southern Arena in Bo. Meanwhile, in the north, Bai Bureh Warriors FC will welcome Abacha City FC to the Port Loko Town Field.

All matches are scheduled to kick off at 4:15 p.m.

This season will also mark a turning point for the Sierra Leone Premier League, as it will be the last to feature 18 teams. According to the SLFA, the number of participating clubs will be gradually reduced from next season in a bid to enhance competition, ensure financial stability, and improve match quality.

Football fans across the nation are eagerly anticipating the new season, which comes with high hopes of better management, fair officiating, and renewed enthusiasm under the Kamara-led administration.
